Hey cool! He’s using Photoshop TE (typewriter edition). I don’t know how that would work, but hey…if your old typewriter still works, why spend the money on a new computer?

None-the-less, great tutorial. I understand it better now. But does anyone else find the Photoshop pen so much easier to use than the Illustrator pen? I always end up using photoshop, then exporting my work to illustrator after.

Also notice for example at 2:04 and later how he makes each half circle with 3 points when only 2 are needed… and I could go on and on…sigh

I’ll give you an example, the circle. The problem why he can’t make half a circle with 2 points is because he starts with a single point that has no handles. If you alwasy use two handles for each anchor point, then you can make a complete circle with only 3 clicks. Check out my video.

I warn you, there are more of these kind of mistakes in his video. If you care about learning it the proper way, then don’t follow his advice.

The use of the pen tool is taught totally wrong in this tutorial, it’s sad that innocent beginners are going to be the victim of someone who doesn’t understand all the concepts….sigh

when I try and use the pen tool, it creates a new layer with a vector mask every time, and it has a bunch of white shapes when I try to cut out an object, somebody help please
