If you are one of the fifty million users currently owning a little corner of the web called MySpace, then you probably also know that this website is ranked amongst the three most popular sites in America. MySpace is a website where users join and unite as a means of networking, socializing, making business connections, and yes, you can even still make friends on MySpace. When you sign up with MySpace you do so with the intention of being noticed and adored by many, regardless of what your main objective really is. Everywhere you turn on MySpace you see millions of people with a variety of MySpace layouts all saying the same thing, read me! You want it too. You want the world to see your MySpace, and you want them to like it.

So how do you make a MySpace that stands out amongst the crowd of fifty million? MySpace layouts are one of the most popular means of doing so. When you log into MySpace, you get to create your own profile. As you do so, your layout will appear that shows the world how great you really are. When others log on and view that profile, they will see any of the MySpace layouts that you have chosen for your space. MySpace layouts are pages that are designed so that the information you choose to be viewed, is viewed easily by the people that you choose to view it.

MySpace layouts contain a heading or title that carries with it something that is unique to you, and that you use to identify your individuality to the world. You can use quotes, or sayings, or simply string together a series of words that you want your friends to read. MySpace layouts also have a section for other people to leave comments for you, one where you can be contacted, and many other options to personalize your MySpace layouts.

The ultimate key to your success on MySpace is how you make your MySpace layouts work for you. You can find a wide variety of MySpace layouts on the Internet that will speak volumes to the world about your personal style and who you are. Each site offers a wide variety of MySpace layouts, as well as free codes and tutorials that you simply enter into your MySpace profile. These MySpace layouts and their tutorials are all free and can be manipulated into your MySpace in a matter of minutes.

Since Myspace launched in 2003 by L.A programmers E-Universe it has since then been booming, now in the year 2008 there is well over 200 million users around the globe in well over 20 international territories like US, UK, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. According to the Myspace press release, Myspace is one of the fastest growing websites of all time boasting huge amounts of stats like over 14 billion comments, 1.5 billion images, and 8 million Artists!

Since Myspace established many sites have been launched as myspace “tool boxes” for users. These sites come in handy for users looking to spice up their profiles with flash mp3 players, comment graphics, profile editors, games, layouts and much more. Most of these sites offer a multitude of user options and applications. One of the really popular areas is the Myspace Graphic sites. it seems like theres a new one popping up every second. These Myspace graphic sites offer many different Myspace Graphics, ranging from glitter images to funny animated pictures to occasion graphics, to popular icons.

Anything you want to find, you will find, and with just a few clicks of your mouse. According to Google search there is well over 80 pages and 15,500,000 results for the keyword “myspace graphics” alone. And over 50 pages and 10,600,000 results for the keyword “myspace graphic comments”. Ive got to say it, if you cant find what your looking for with over 26,100,000 results, then you don’t need it!

Myspace graphic sites also offer other things like the ability to upload your own picture on to their server and turn it into a myspace ‘piece de resistance’, video clips, codes to change your mouse cursor, day of the week comments, contact table graphics etc. I could go on but I wont.

These sites are considered the mecca of all sites and with over 200 million users in ages ranging from fourteen to eighty years old theres no wonder there is so many sites available, each one of them offering something different, something more appealing, something cooler than the next site. I’m not one to comment graphics in particular my bag is more in the online gaming area! Although I will admit to being one of the 200 million users.

How Much is Too Much? Pimping Out Myspace Layouts

Shant asked:

We’ve all seen the gaudy MySpace layouts that have well over their fair share of glitter text, images of alcohol, an overdose of font decorations, and abundance of YouTube videos. The problem with these profiles is that they often take a long time to load, and also very rarely look appealing to the mainstream users of MySpace.

Most users of MySpace have forgotten the original meaning of MySpace- to share friends and to let everyone know what makes you tick. Recently, the MySpace scene has exploded into options for MySpace layouts- with hundreds of different things to add to profiles. Things such as surveys go nicely when adding something to a profile, since it still educates viewers on who and what you are. The abundance of unnecessary items has recently begun to make MySpace another source of spam-like personal websites that existed largely before MySpace.

While these things such as glitter text can be interesting to look at, and can spice up a MySpace layout, the problem with their usage is that they are used too much. First, this impacts the speed of which a MySpace layout loads. Not all of the world’s population has obtained high-speed internet yet, a lot of users still use a 56k modem. This means that basic functions such as commenting on a friend’s profile can take much longer than usual- which defeats the purpose of the MySpace layout in the first place.

Besides speed, the extra effects also will usually make the profile in question “watered down” with useless information. When there are YouTube videos, multiple images, and special effects littering an otherwise clean profile, the actual purpose of the profile gets lost. The purpose of a MySpace profile is to inform friends or possible business clients who you are, and to network with their friends. The appeal of possible friends adding a profile that takes too long to load or doesn’t display enough information is lost, and likewise a new possible friend is lost.

Lastly, spam MySpace profiles will often use a lot of effects such as these to cover up the true purpose of the account. In recent times, MySpace accounts have been used to spam bulletins and comments to advertise a web service or website. To make visitors think it is an actual person wanting friendship, these MySpace entrepreneurs will often add a lot of effects and style to a profile to cover up the true purpose of advertising. If it looks like a spam profile, it usually is.

MySpace layouts have come a long way since the times when everyone used the basic layout that comes with a new MySpace account. Instead, many types of colors, decorations, music, and images have flooded the majority of the 50 million MySpace layouts in existence. While this was to be expected, and adds a sense of creativity and makes each layout more unique, over using certain effects can easily destroy the very purpose of what a Myspace layout should and should not be.

How to Maintain a Killer Myspace Layout

Shant asked:

Myspace, one of the leaders in social networking, has hit a record of over 50 million users. The problem with so many users is that creativity often runs low. Mass-produced Myspace layouts can be seen everywhere on Myspace- and finding an original profile has become something of a phenomenon.

The main problem with getting new Myspace profiles is that everyone else has already likely found and used one of the hundreds that are available all over the internet. The solution that many people seek comes in the form of Myspace layout generators. These Myspace layout generators allow users to create and edit profile colors, images, and even add special items such as glitter text. This allows those who have little experience with HTML or CSS create a professional looking profile, but it still takes much more work than simply copying and pasting a premade layout.

For those who are a little more adept in technical skills, editing the HTML and CSS directly will give the most unique Myspace layout available. CSS basically controls how certain things are displayed- which means text, links, font decorations, and much more. The HTML side of coding allows users to input images, control text styles and decorations that the CSS code specifies, and can even put videos or music players into a profile. This method takes a lot more time to edit and complete, but it will give the best overall unique look for a Myspace layout.

The number one giveaway that users have used a pre-made Myspace layout is the ads that are left behind from the Myspace layout websites. Most Myspace layout providers put ads and images in the layout code that link back to their website. Users can edit this out, usually by finding the link they leave behind, which will start with and then be followed by a link to a website. This is a common giveaway that a user’s profile is just one of the thousands that looks like every other un-creative profile.

Of course, creativity isn’t always necessary. Having a creative Myspace layout is simply a means of communicating to viewers who you are and what you do. For businesses or organizations, having a creative layout is mandatory to running a successful Myspace business. For instance, record labels will definitely not want to use a branded layout- musicians would likely think that they aren’t serious enough to take the time and make their own. This can not only hurt business through lack of dedication, but also through loss of business to competitors that do have creative Myspace layout.

The Myspace layout is the next personal homepage of the current generation. Clearly, the 1990’s brought a lot of innovation into the web design scene. Since then, the ease of using Myspace has made a new kind of personal homepage- one complete with a blog, music, pictures, and networking capabilities. The definition of a personal webpage means that the content is unique- not copied. Likewise, those who use Myspace to define themselves among friends will want to customize Myspace layouts as much as possible- as it is likely the majority of the other 50 million users of simply copied and pasted a Myspace layout for their own personal use.

Myspace is the Best Way to Promote Your Music

Keishon Martin asked:

The internet power house MySpace, currently is the best way to promote your music to millions of people all over the web. Where every up and coming singer, rapper, producer or independent record label needs to have an attractive MySpace music profile for their recorded material. where in this day and age you are moving very slow if you do not have a myspace page to compete with the best. Then I suggest that you go ahead and sign up now for free to start promoting your music. But first I must let you know what will work for your music and what will not work in the aspect of being effective in your myspace marketing so that you do not waste your time and money, because you can spend a lots of time there with out serving your initial purpose.

Where the first thing that you will need to do is look for some very effective ways that you can stand out from the crowd. And the truth is that millions of other recording artist that already have a MySpace page so it is essentially important to do something very different in your approach to promotion. Having said that, the coding boys at MySpace have not made it particularly easy to do that, (it’s a free service after all) and hence the slew of external companies offering free MySpace layouts. To find a layout you like, simply do a Google search for “Myspace layouts” and you will find a great deal of layouts to choose from. One site in particular that I like is www.spacedoutcodes.com When you find a layout you like, you will get some code to insert into the about me section of your profile field.

But on the down side of it all there are way too many artists spending far too much time promoting their MySpace pages and even worse the waste time typing with goupies instead, when their own artist websites are being ignored. You probably could expect, that the almighty MySpace might (and ill say a BIG might) go out of business in a few years. Most of these mega sites come and gone, especially when there are billions of dollars involved. On the other hand, the company known as Google Inc. may thrive, who knows?

But a good thing to do is to make your MySpace page personal. Talk to your fans like you know them and post comments on their pages too. If you take the time to show love to your fans, then your fans will show love back to you. Also take the time to add some interesting personal info about your background, yourself, or the entire band if appropriate. Try to include some great photos, both professional and regular home photos, and of course allow people to download some mp3s of your music.

Now the next thing to do is to grab some new fans from MySpace. What I would suggest is that you accept all those who people who make a request to be your friend, and try to add every body. And I would even go seeking friend adds from other bands. The reason is that other bands love to listen to the competition, and you may even want to discuss joint ventures with them, but whats better than going after the bands is to go after those other bands fans instead, cause you already know that they like music. To do this, find bands that are on the same musical genre with you.

As it can be some what overwhelming to see some stars with just about a million friends and over 10,000 song plays per day, but wouldn’t it be nice to get to that place? I can’t stress this point enough which is the need to get your new potential fans to come visit your own website and not your myspace page. As the more places that you are at in the Internet will draw more people to look for your myspace page.
